Australian captain Michael Clarke has won the Allan Border Medal for the fourth time in his career, and clinched the country's Test Player of the Year award for a third consecutive year.

All-rounder Shane Watson was named Australia's Twenty20 International Player of the Year, while seamer Clint McKay took the ODI Player of the Year accolade.

Opening batsman Phillip Hughes secured the State Player of the Year prize, and 23-year-old Queensland and Brisbane Heat batsman Joe Burns was named the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year.

The right-handed Jess Cameron clinched the Women's Player of the Year accolade, ending the prolific run of the veteran Shelley Nitschke's, who won the award four consecutive times from 2009 to 2012.

Clarke finished with 198 votes in the Allan Border Medal count, easily trumping Watson and the recently retired Michael Hussey, who ended joint second with 165 votes each.

The right-handed Clarke enjoyed a prolific 12 months in Test cricket, scoring 1080 runs at the impressive average of 77.14 during the voting period, which spanned 25 February 2012 to 28 January 2013. Monday's win added to his previous triumphs in 2005, 2009 and 2012.

McKay was Australia's leading ODI wicket-taker on the back of 26 victims at the superb average 25.76 during the stipulated period. Watson won the Twenty20 award last year, too, and this time collected 42 votes - 13 more than captain George Bailey and 26 more than opener David Warner.

The 31-year-old Watson was the leading run-scorer at the 2012 World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka, where he scored 249 at the impressive average of 49.80. He also took 11 wickets.
