Former Australia fast bowler Gary Gilmour has died at the age of 62 years old.
Gilmour played 15 Tests and five ODIs between January 1974 and March 1997.
The highlight of his career was arguably a Man of the Match haul of six for 14 in 12 overs against England in the 1975 World Cup semi-final.
"Condolences to Gary Gilmour and his family, our thoughts are with him and his family from all at CA at this time," tweeted current Australia coach Darren Lehmann.
"Gus Gilmour has passed away, a sad day, had not an enemy in the game. His bat was an axe and he could swing a brick around a container," added erstwhile leg-spinner Kerry O'Keeffe.
"Terribly sad news about Gary Gilmour's passing. One of the most loved players in Australian cricket," said Australian Cricketers' Association CEO Paul Marsh.
Gilmour had undergone a liver transplant in 2005, but battled health problems for many years – and passed away at Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Tuesday.
