Video of the Week: Hair no-balls Muralitharan
Tuesday marks the 62nd birthday of former international umpire Darrell Hair, infamous for no-balling Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan – and that alleged crooked elbow.
Hair no-balled Muralitharan seven times in three overs during a Test between Australia and Sri Lanka in Melbourne in 1995. It was the first time Muralitharan had been called in 22 Tests matches, although the International Cricket Council later revealed umpires had expressed doubts about his legitimacy for more than two years.
