The West Indies Cricket Board have reportedly removed head coach Ottis Gibson ahead of this month's ODI series against Bangladesh.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian, Gibson will be replaced by former South Africa and Australia coach Mickey Arthur, after Gibson did not feature at training in Grenada.

WICB president Dave Cameron reportedly told the newspaper: "He is not in Grenada, that much we can confirm. Nothing [else] that I wish to confirm at this time. We are in discussions."

Arthur coached the Jamaica Tallawahs in the recent Caribbean Premier League – and was on the shortlist to replace Sri Lankan head coach Marvan Atapattu.

The Windies and Bangladesh will meet for three ODIs, a one-off Twenty20 International and two Tests from 20 August to 17 September.
