Steyn, Kallis recovering from injury

Fast bowler Dale Steyn and all-rounder Jacques Kallis have been released from South African squad for third and final ODI against Pakistan in Centurion on Saturday.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn and all-rounder Jacques Kallis have been released from South African squad.

Steyn is nursing a side strain, while Kallis has hurt a finger. The tourists boast an unassailable lead in the three-match affair on the back of triumphs at Newlands in Cape Town and St George's Park in Port Elizabeth.

"Dale and Jacques will play a key role in the upcoming series against India in both the Tests and ODI's, so we felt it was necessary for us to take precautionary measures so that they are able to enter the series in prime condition," said team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee.

"This will also give the coaching staff an opportunity to try out a few players who have missed out during the series."

The third and final ODI will get underway in Centurion on Saturday, after which the Proteas will prepare for India's arrival and the Pakistanis will tour Sri Lanka.
