India have dropped seamer Zaheer Khan, batsman Yuvraj Singh and spinner Harbhajan Singh for the final Test against England, which gets underway on Thursday.

Sunday's seven-wicket defeat saw the hosts slump to a two-one deficit in the four-match affair, forcing a rethink as to the makeup of their squad - and playing XI - for the series decider in Nagpur.

The uncapped pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Parvinder Awana and leg-spinner Piyush Chawla have subsequently been called up on the back of solid performances in domestic cricket this season.

Right-arm seamer Awana has clinched a telling 14 wickets in his last three first-class fixtures for Delhi, while all-rounder Jadeja amassed a hefty triple-century for Saurashtra earlier this month. Chawla, meanwhile, has enjoyed a stream of consistency for Uttar Pradesh recently.

Yuvraj has paid the price for a mere 115 runs in five innings since his return to the Test XI and the 34-year-old Zaheer was largely ineffective at Eden Gardens, where he managed just one wicket - and was a slow liability in the field.

Harbhajan, however, will feel hard done by. The veteran of 99 Tests, he only played in the second match of the series, holding his own alongside in-form fellow spinners Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The selectors also announced the squad for the two-match Twenty20 International series against the same opposition later this month, with Awana and uncapped seaming all-rounder Bhuvneshwar Kumar included.

Kumar has been at the fore of Uttar Pradesh's 2012 campaign, welcoming back-to-back five-wicket hauls and consecutive half-centuries in late November, early December. All-rounder Irfan Pathan was not considered for selection due to injury.
