Vice-captain Eoin Morgan will lead England in their Twenty20 International series against India, after regular captain Stuart Broad was ruled out by a heel injury.

Uncapped right-arm seamer James Harris, meanwhile, has been called up as Broad's replacement in the squad.

Fast bowler Steven Finn, too, has been excluded from selection after sustaining a back injury prior to the ongoing fourth and final Test in Nagpur.

Harris was part of the Performance Programme squad currently touring India, snaring three key wickets in their win over the DY Patil Sports Academy, and will join the international fold later this week.

"Stuart Broad has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Twenty20 series against India with a bruised left heel. Broad will return to the UK immediately to begin a period of rest and rehabilitation," read a statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board.

India, who lost batsman Manoj Tiwary to a side strain this week, will also be without fast bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji for the two-match series.

Balaji has been sidelined by a stress injury to a toe on his right foot. He will be replaced by fellow right-armer Vinay Kumar.

India and England will meet for T20Is in Pune and Mumbai on 20 and 22 December respectively - and later five ODIs.
