Fast bowler Steven Finn is cherishing the challenge of leading England's attack in the absence of the rested James Anderson and injured Stuart Broad.

Finn fared the most economical of the visiting seamers in the first and second ODIs against India and will again take the new ball alongside fellow right-armer Jade Dernbach in Saturday's third fixture in Ranchi.

The makeup of the remainder of the seam department, meanwhile, is yet to be decided. All-rounder Tim Bresnan missed the clash in Kochi due to a knee injury and was replaced by all-rounder Chris Woakes. The inexperienced Stuart Meaker, meanwhile, is hopeful of gaining a third ODI cap.

"It's going to be up to whoever bowls the first over, if it happens to be me, or whoever faces the first ball to front up and really set the tone. I really enjoy having the added responsibility of bowling in the important phases of the game. I feel like I'm developing and learning all the time," said Finn.

"We're looking forward to the next challenge. It's great to be out there playing ODI cricket in front of so many people and crowds that are are passionate about the game. It's a great opportunity and a great shop window to be able to show what we can do."

Finn conceded playing in India can be "intimidating", though the size of the crowed expected at HEC International Cricket Stadium Complex is set to be considerably smaller than the 65,000-strong nature of that experienced at the Nehru Stadium earlier this week.

"To play in front of close to 70,000 people with that sort of noise going on all day was incredible. It's something you don't experience anywhere else in the world. The atmosphere is like nothing you get in any other sporting event in the world, anywhere," he added.

"It can be quite intimidating I suppose but I don't think that's something that would have affected us. I think we embraced it and even though we lost there was something to savour. It's exciting and amazing to be out there in an environment like that."

Mohali and Dharamsala will host matches four and five on 23 and 27 January respectively.
