India returned to the top of the International Cricket Council's ODI rankings after Sunday's three-two series win over previous leaders England.
Victories in Kochi, Mohali and Ranchi defied defeats in Dharamsala and Rajkot, leaving the Indians a mere 0.2 points ahead of the English, who had topped the rankings since September last year.
India's Suresh Raina was the five-match series' leading run-scorer on the back of 277 from four innings at an impressive average of 92.33.
England's spinner James Tredwell was the leading wicket-taker, with 11 victims accrued at a mere 18.18 apiece.
South Africa, meanwhile, have drifted from second to fourth after their two-one series loss to New Zealand. Australia remain third.
