Career-best figures for all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and a successful promotion to the top of the order for batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan marked the West Indies' seven-wicket win - and unassailable two-nil series lead over Zimbabwe - in Sunday's second ODI in Grenada.

Visiting skipper Brendan Taylor's choice to bat first amounted to a formidable 273 for eight, considerably stronger than their 181 for nine in the series opener.

The Windies, however, made reasonably light work of the testing target, as Sarwan's 120 not out and a complementary half-century from fellow opener Kieran Powell brought triumph with an over to spare.

Complementing seamer Bravo's six for 43 to superb effect, Sarwan welcomed a move from the middle order - in the absence of rested opener Johnson Charles - en route to an outstanding vigil laced with nine boundaries and two handsome sixes.

The left-handed Narsingh Deonarine and all-rounder Kieron Pollard helped complete the job, with 42 and 41 not out respectively, leaving a series whitewash in the offing ahead of Tuesday's final fixture at the same venue.

"Congratulations to my team for a marvellous effort, it was a tough chase. Sarwan opened, anchored the innings and showed his class with that knock. There was no need to panic at the end, we had Pollard, Andre Russell and myself to come," said man-of-the-match Bravo.

"We wanted to challenge ourselves, challenge our abilities, and it was also good to see the crowd come out to support us. We know how it feels to lose series, and this has been an opportunity to win one, so it's a great feeling. I just want to do my best for West Indies cricket."

Defeated skipper Brendan Taylor found consolation in the performances of debutant Tendai Chatara and leg-spinner Natsai M'shangwe, despite the pair's inability to secure a wicket. Opener Vusi Sibanda's untimely fall for 51 and Taylor's duck, though, marred Zimbabwe's quest for a 300-plus tally.

"The guys put their hands up and fought hard. You have to give credit to Sarwan for holding the innings together. Losing myself and Vusi up front probably set us back by 20 to 30 runs," added Taylor.

"Chatara can show some pride in his performance, but there's still room for improvement. Mushangwe bowled in tough situations, and to go for just over 40 was excellent. There's a lot of cricket left, and we'll be looking to do our country proud."
