Scotland are in deep trouble in their ICC Continental Cup match against Afghanistan in Dubai after stumbling to 64 for six at stumps on day two.

Gordon Drummond's team have a lead of just 104, with only four second-innings wickets left. After riding on Neil McCallum's unbeaten century on the way to 212 all out on day one, Scotland restricted Afghanistan to 171 all out.

Afghanistan, who started the day on 18 for one after losing Shabir Noori late on the opening day, were back on course thanks to a second-wicket stand of 41 between Mirwais Ashraf and Karim Sadiq, but spinner Majid Haq gave Scotland the breakthrough when he had the former caught for 21.

Richie Berrington then dismissed Sadiq for 43 and Mohammad Shahzad for 10 as Afghanistan slumped to 89 for four.

Scotland continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals and a half-century from captain Nawroz Mangal helped them to 171. Medium-pacer Matthew Parker and Haq finished with three wickets each.

Scotland's batsmen failed to put the pressure on Afghanistan as they struggled to 64 for six.

Preston Mommsen (nine), Fraser Watts (28), Kyle Coetzer (11), Gregor Maiden (four) and McCallum (duck) all lost their wickets in quick succession, with Samiullah Shenwari claiming three for 15 and Hamid Hassan two for 25.
