The Champions League just cannot get going in South Africa as the clash between the Delhi Daredevils and Auckland Aces was abandoned without a ball being bowled in Durban on Friday.

The inclement weather had not relented by the schedule start of play at 18:10 local time (16:10 GMT). With conditions so bad, the respective captains never made it to the middle of Kingsmead for the toss.

Second and third respectively in the Group A standings, a win for Delhi or Auckland would have drawn them level on eight points with the table-topping Titans.

However, the washout has severely hurt both sides' hopes of a semi-final berth as they pick up just two points.

The tournament has already endured two washouts, with Kolkata and Perth and Mumbai and Yorkshire the recipients of damp squibs in Durban and Cape Town respectively earlier this week.
