All-rounder Darren Sammy inspired the West Indies to a superb two-wicket win over India in Sunday's second ODI at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Half-centuries from Sammy, the recalled Kieran Powell, the left-handed Darren Bravo and the hard-hitting Lendl Simmons saw the visitors surpass India's total of 288 for seven with three deliveries to spare.

The talented Virat Kohli became 2013 leading run-scorer in 2013, but was agonisingly dismissed for 99 by seamer Ravi Rampaul, who finished as the pick of the bowlers with figures of four 60.

The Windies elected to field after winning the toss, as Kohli continued a rich run of form, striking nine fours. The talented right-hander had scored centuries in two previous innings in Visakhapatnam, but fell one run short this time when Rampaul had him caught by fielder Jason Holder. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni later moved to unbeaten 51 from just 40 balls, including four sixes.

The tourists' pursuit endured a tough start, with opener Johnson Charles and the experienced Marlon Samuels removed inside the opening six overs. But a century alliance between Powell and Bravo rectified the pursuit, before both were dismissed in quick succession.
Simmons and Sammy, however, kept the Windies in the hunt. Simmons scored an admirable 62, but it was Sammy who stole the show almost entirely, romping to an unbeaten 63 from a mere 45 balls, four sixes included.

The third and final ODI will get underway in Kanpur on Wednesday.
