Michael Lumb continued his excellent form as a 43-ball half-century carried Hampshire to a nine-wicket win under the Duckworth/Lewis method in their NatWest Pro40 League Division One match with Durham.
Lumb followed his 219 in the LV County Championship match at Trent Bridge last week with an unbeaten 57 out of a total of 87 for one after 11 overs, which put Hampshire well ahead of their target when bad light ended play at Chester-le-Street.
The target at the start of their innings was 197 in 31 overs, but the game's third interruption for rain came when they were 12 for one in the third over.
On the resumption the revised target was 163 in 24 overs and once Lumb and 18-year-old James Vince had taken 17 off the sixth over, bowled by Ben Harmison, they were always well ahead of the required rate.
Daryl Mitchell and Ian Fisher were Worcestershire's heroes as they claimed a thrilling last-ball victory against Essex at Colchester.
They put together an unbroken partnership of 47 in the final five overs to see their side home by three wickets in response to their opponents' total of 247 for five. With Mitchell playing the leading role, 36 of those runs came in the last three overs sent down by Chris Wright and Tim Phillips.
Mitchell ended with a half-century from 37 balls, an effort containing five fours. He was one of three Worcestershire batsmen to record half-centuries the others being Vikram Solanki and Steve Davies, who shared in an opening partnership of 103 in 16 overs.
In Division Two, Kent Spitfires sent Derbyshire Phantoms crashing to their first defeat of the competition to win a high-scoring game at Chesterfield by four wickets.
A big crowd at the picturesque Queen's Park ground were treated to some explosive strokeplay as Kent chased down the home side's total of 259 for eight with 10 balls to spare.
Derbyshire captain Chris Rogers top scored with 88 from 107 balls, which set the platform for a punishing assault from the lower order with Jon Clare blasting 34 from 17 balls as 75 came from the last six overs.
That left a Kent side missing their top four batsmen with a lot to do - but Alex Blake set them up by blasting 80 off 70 balls and then Darren Stevens and Azhar Mahmood smashed half-centuries to take the Spitfires to 260 for six.
Spinners Claude Henderson and Jigar Naik took three wickets apiece as Leicestershire Foxes crushed Lancashire Lightning by 76 runs to clinch their first win of the campaign.
With James Benning and Tom New both scoring half-centuries in an opening stand of 118 the Foxes posted 222 for six after winning the toss.
Lancashire looked in good shape in the early part of their innings but then lost six wickets for 36 runs in 10 overs to crash to their first defeat.
