Khan Mohammad claims six for 21 as Pakistan dismiss New Zealand for just 70 (their fourth lowest total at the time) in the third Test in Dhaka. The match finishes in a draw after several days were washed out.
1985
Richard Hadlee runs amok in the first Test against Australia in Brisbane. The Kiwi finishes one wicket short of the perfect 10 as he claims nine for 52 - the fourth best bowling figures in an innings at the time.
1986
Pakistan crash to their second-lowest Test total of 77 against the West Indies in Lahore. Courtney Walsh picks up four for 21 as the visitors claim a dramatic 10-run victory on the final day of the second Test.

Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium joins the ever-growing list of grounds to host Test matches as it stages the first ever game between India and the West Indies.
1984
Michael Holding claims six for 21 as Australia are bundled out for 76 (their 14th lowest total) in the first Test in Perth. The Windies go on to win the match and the victory earns them a ninth consecutive Test victory.
1991
21 years after playing their last game, South Africa make their return to international cricket with an ODI against India in Calcutta. Allan Donald claims five for 29, but the visitors go down by three wickets.
1998
For the first time in international limited-overs competition, four players score a century in an ODI. Ijaz Ahmed and Yousuf Youhana (now Mohammad Yousuf) reach three figures for Pakistan, while Adam Gilchirst and Ricky Ponting also score tons as Australia chased down 316 in Lahore.
2000
Bangladesh become the 10th country to play Test cricket as they take on India in Dhaka. After scoring 400 in their first innings, they collapse to 91 all out the second time of asking to give India a nine-wicket win.
2002
Matthew Hayden joins the elite club of players to score a century in both innings after hitting 197 and 103 against England in Brisbane.

Sourav Ganguly fetches a golden duck in his final Test innings.

George Giffen gives the ultimate all-round display as he becomes the first player to score a double-century and take 16 wickets in a match for South Australia against Victoria. He makes 271 and claims nine for 96 and seven for 70.
1996
More than 40 years after making their Test debut, New Zealand claim their first ever series victory (one-nil) after drawing the third Test against Pakistan in Dhaka.
2002
Inzamam-ul-Haq scores 103 in the first session of the opening Test against Zimbabwe in Harare to become only the 16th player to hit a ton before lunch. Inzamam also becomes the second Pakistani to reach 6,000 Test runs during the match.
2003
India fast bowler Javagal Srinath announces his retirement from international cricket. He later becomes an ICC match referee.

Australia's Jack Gregory scores the quickest Test century at the time, taking only 70 minutes and 67 balls to do so in the second game against South Africa in Johannesburg.
1983
Ahmedabad becomes the 56th ground to host a Test as India take on the West Indies.
1988
India's Arun Lal becomes Richard Hadlee 374th Test victim in the first match in Bangalore. Hadlee's 374 wickets is a world record at the time. The Kiwi took another 14 wickets in the match.
1993
Aussie Glenn McGrath makes his Test debut against New Zealand in Perth. He is out for a golden duck and claims two for 92 in 39 overs.
1995
Martin Crowe makes his final appearance in Test cricket during the third match against India in Cuttack.
2003
Ganguly joins Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi in the '150 ODI sixes club' during a match against Australia at Bangalore.

1983
On his way to scoring 90, Sunil Gavaskar moves past Geoff Boycott's aggregate of 8,114 runs to become Test cricket's highest run-scorer. Gavaskar also sets a new record at the time for the most half-centuries (65).
1990
West Indies ace Gordon Greenidge becomes only the sixth batsman to score 5,000 ODI runs during the third one-dayer against Pakistan in Multan.
1992
In the first Test on South African soil since 1970, Kepler Wessels scores 118 against India in Durban to become the first cricketer to score a ton for two different countries. His other century was for Australia against England in 1982. Other milestones in the match include Omar Henry becoming the first player of colour to represent South Africa in Tests. Jimmy Cook becomes the first South African to be dismissed first ball on debut.

1981
Dennis Lillee and Terry Alderman share nine wickets as Australia dismiss Pakistan for 62 in 108 minutes and 21.2 overs at the WACA. It is the visitors' lowest score at the time. The match though, is remembered for its controversy. Lillee deliberately impedes and aims a kick at Javed Miandad after he is, reportedly, provoked by verbal abuse. The duo have to be separated after Miandad tries to club his opponent with his bat. The Aussie was later suspended for two ODIs.

While representing India against the Windies in Ahmedabad, Gursharan Singh becomes the first substitute fielder to take four catches in a Test.
1983
The Test between Australia and Pakistan in Perth marks the first time that wides and no-balls are debited to the bowler's analysis in Australia.
1987 Dhruv Pandove, aged 13 years 310 days, becomes the youngest player to play in India's Ranji Trophy. The following year he becomes the youngster player to score a century and reach 1,000 Test runs. He was tragically killed in an accident in 1992.
1991
South Africa beat India by eight wickets in the third ODI in New Delhi to claim their first victory since readmission to international cricket.
1992
For the first time in Test cricket, a player is given out with the use of television evidence by the third umpire. Sachin Tendulkar is the unlucky batsman after he is found short of his crease following a run-out by South African stars Jonty Rhodes and Andrew Hudson.
1993
Rhodes snares five catches against the West Indies in Bombay's ODI to become the first fielder to do so.

1947
Donald Bradman scores 172 for an Australian XI against a touring Indian team in Sydney to reach the milestone of 100 centuries in first-class cricket.
1952
Vinoo Mankad claims eight wickets in the third match against Pakistan in Bombay to become the first Indian to take 100 Test wickets.
1989
Tendulkar, makes his Test debut against Pakistan at Karachi to become India's youngest and Test cricket's third youngest debutant, aged 16 years and 205 days. He is bowled for 15 by Waqar Younis, who is also playing in his first Test.
1992
Praveen Amre scores a century on Test debut against South Africa in Durban.
