Dilhara Fernando has been called up to the Sri Lankan squad for the ongoing Test series in India.
Fernando replaces fellow pace ace Thilan Thushara, who has been ruled out of the duration of the tour due to a shoulder injury.
"Thilan Thushara will return to Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury and he will not be match fit for approximately two to four weeks," Sri Lankan Cricket said in a statement. "Dilhara Fernando will replace him."
Thushara injured his shoulder during practice on Sunday and was ruled out of the series opener currently on the go in Ahmedabad, availing fringe fast bowler Chanaka Welegedera graduation to the starting XI.
Fernando, who sports 33 Tests across almost a decade, joins seamers Nuwan Kulasekara and Dammika Prasad in a squad looking to achieve their first ever Test series victory in India.
