India have recalled opening batsman Virender Sehwag for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan, while veteran seamer Zaheer Khan was not considered for selection.
The 15-man party sees six changes to the team that toured Sri Lanka in July, with all-rounder Irfan Pathan, seamer Umesh Yadav and batsman Manoj Tiwary sidelined by injury - and Zaheer and spinners Pragyan Ojha and Rahul Sharma dropped.
Khan's omission was by mutual consent between the bowler, team management and selectors. The 34-year-old will instead hone his fitness levels ahead of the Test series against Australia in February. Former captain Sachin Tendulkar, meanwhile, announced his retirement from ODI cricket on Sunday.
Batsman Yuvraj Singh, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, leg-spinner Amit Mishra, fast bowler Ishant Sharma have been recalled, while uncapped seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shami Ahmed were also included on the back of fine performances for Uttar Pradesh and Bengal respectively.
The selectors did not make any changes to the T20I squad that drew with England in this week's two-match T20I series.
T20I squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Gautam Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ashok Dinda, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Parvinder Awana, Piyush Chawla, Ambati Rayudu.
