India's Virat Kohli has been cleared to play in this week's second ODI against Pakistan, after recovering from a foot injury sustained in the series opener.

Kohli fell for a duck in the hosts' insufficient total of 227 for six, and later left the field for treatment after slipping on the bowling crease during a spell of part-time seam.

Pakistan eventually won the match by six wickets on the back of a century from opener Nasir Jamshed - to take a vital one-nil lead in the three-match series.

"Virat is available for selection for the second match," confirmed captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The second ODI gets underway at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. The Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi will host the third and final fixture on Sunday.
