Australia all-rounder Shane Watson gave his team a huge scare on Saturday as he limped off the field during the seventh ODI against India in Bangalore, having picked up a hamstring injury.

Watson pulled up during his bowling run-up, having bowled five overs during India's 383-run demolition, and initial thoughts were that he'd done his calf muscle again, as he had last year.

But confirmation soon came from the dressing room that it was his hamstring, and now all eyes will be on him with less than three weeks to go until the first Ashes Test in Brisbane.

Watson did come out to bat and ended up making 49 runs off 22 balls, but he did most of the damage from the crease, hitting six sixes and two fours, cutting down on the need to run.

Watson has a long history with unfortunately timed injuries, missing the Ashes in 2007, as well as the World Cup that year, to the same type of injury, while he also had a few issues with it in 2011, before his calf began playing up.
