Bangladesh wrapped up the simplest of eight-wicket wins over Bermuda at the Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's, Antigua on Sunday.

Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat first, losing wickets at regular intervals which was never going to help their cause.

They eventually posted 205 for eight in their allotted 50 overs with a handful of decent contributions from Lionel Cann (33), Saleem Mukuddem (32), Janeiro Tucker (31) and debutant Oliver Pitcher (30).

Cann's innings was particularly aggressive coming off just 23 balls including three fours and a trio of mighty sixes.

All the Bangladeshi bowlers came to the party, pitching in with a wicket each but it was Mohammad Rafique who bagged a two-fer, finishing with prime figures of two for 38 in 10 overs.

Bangladesh got stuck straight into the task at hand and racked up the winning runs in just the 38th over of the innings.

Aftab Ahmed was his usual quick-fire self blasting 40 off only 27 deliveries including seven boundaries while Saqibul Hasan pitched in with a more circumspect 42 not out off 70 balls.

But it was Shahriar Nafees who stole the show with his fourth ton in his 40th One-dayer.

Nafees finished unbeaten on 104 (112 balls), enjoying a 134-run unbroken third-wicket stand with Hasan.

The star opener hammered eight superb boundaries and three handsome sixes during his stint out in the middle.

Bermuda meet Canada on Monday in the second match of the Tri-Series.
