Dhoni and company fined for slow over-rate

India have been punished for a slow over-rate during their miserable fifth-Test loss to England.

The International Cricket Council have fined India for a slow over-rate during the fifth and final Test at The Oval in London, where England secured a three-one series triumph.

The tourists were deemed to be three overs behind the target after time allowances were taken into consideration. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was sanctioned 60 percent – and the rest of the team 30.

India accepted the ruling without appealing. Dhoni will be suspended for one match if the Indians commit another over-rate offence before August 2015.

The English and Indians will meet for five ODIs – in Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham and Leeds – between 25 August and 5 September. A one-off Twenty20 International at Edgbaston will follow.
