Praveen Kumar claimed a hat-trick and Jacques Kallis produced a magnificent all-round performance as the Bangalore Royals Challengers humiliated the Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets in the Indian Premier League.

The Royal Challengers turned in an immaculate performance with the ball, Praveen and Anil Kumble claiming three wickets apiece and Kallis snaring two as the Royals were skittled out for a paltry 92.

Kallis then clobbered an unbeaten 44 and opening partner Manish Pandey made 42 not out as the Royal Challengers overhauled the target in 10.4 overs to secure their second consecutive win.

Hampshire batsman Michael Lumb, who replaced the injured Graeme Smith at the top of the order, endured a scratchy start in the company of Naman Ojha after the Royals were invited to take first strike.

Praveen and Dale Steyn were stiflingly accurate with the new ball and just when Ojha had looked to generate momentum, he was snared by Kallis in the sixth over.

The Royals had managed 31 in the powerplay, but the dismissals of Lumb (10) and Abhishek Jhunjhunwala (five) in successive overs immediately after field restrictions eased, left the visitors in disarray.

Those strikes brought debutant Damien Martyn and Yusuf Pathan together, but the home side continued to keep a tight leash on the Royals batsmen.

Pathan, who had also begun unconvincingly, attempted to break free and succeeded in smashing Vinay Kumar for consecutive sixes in the 12th over, but was dropped twice on 19 and 24 and was eventually run out by Virat Kohli for 26.

Praveen then destroyed any hopes of a comeback with a hat-trick in the 17th over, extracting Martyn (19), Paras Dogra (three) and Sumit Narwal before Kumble wiped out the tail with the two more wickets in the final over to finish with magnificent figures of three for nine in 3.5 overs.

Kallis and Pandey then got the Royal Challengers off to a flyer and the chase was accomplished in a flash.

Pandey began with a boundary off the first ball and smashed Munaf Patel for another in the first over, while Kallis raced away by hammering Morkel for four boundaries in the second over.

The Royals then seemed to have secured the breakthrough in the third over when Morkel dove forward at mid-off to hold what appeared to be a fantastic catch, but Pandey was ruled not out after television replays proved inconclusive.

Kallis smashed seven boundaries, while Pandey had a six in addition to seven boundaries.
