England have named the uncapped pair of Danny Briggs and Jos Buttler in their squad for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan.
Alex Hales has been included in the Twent20 International squad and the fit-again Tim Bresnan finds himself in both units.
Ian Bell, meanwhile, has been sidelined from the limited-overs fold entirely. The right-handed batsman endured a wretched run in the recent Test series, which England lost three-nil, scoring a mere 51 runs from six innings.
Left-arm spinner Briggs and batsmen Buttler and Hales were all on tour with the England Lions in Bangladesh Sri Lanka this month, with the 21-year-old Buttler the most impressive after a centuries in Kurunegala and Dambulla.
While the 20-year-old Briggs has yet to represent his country at full international, the 23-year-old Hales is presented with the opportunity to build on the four T20Is he garnered against India and the West Indies in 2011.
"We have selected two squads that include both experienced international players and younger players who have performed strongly for England Lions in recent months and deserve an opportunity to further test themselves against quality opposition," said national selector Geoff Miller.
"Playing against Pakistan in the UAE will be challenging, but it is important that these players continue to develop their skills so that we are able to make strides in limited-overs cricket, particularly on the subcontinent."
Pakistan and England will lock horns for four ODIs and three T20Is. The first ODI gets underway in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
