India have called up the uncapped Ambati Rayudu as a replacement for the injured Manoj Tiwary ahead of this month's Twenty20 International series against England.
Tiwary has been ruled out for six weeks after sustaining a side strain during a domestic match on Sunday.
Rayudu, meanwhile, will graduate to the international fold on the back of some fine form for Baroda recently thanks to successive scores of 64, 85, 10, 54, one, 131 and 58.
The 27-year-old Mumbai Indians right-hander was second only to the in-form Rohit Sharma in this year's Indian Premier League, scoring 333 runs in 15 innings at the hefty strike-rate of 132.14.
India and England will meet for two T20Is in Pune and Mumbai on 20 and 22 December respectively. The hosts will then clash with Pakistan across a five-match limited-overs series.
