Australia have named the uncapped Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ben Rohrer and Josh Hazlewood in their squad for the one-off Twenty20 International against the West Indies in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Opener David Warner, wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, spinner Xavier Doherty and seamer Mitchell Starc have been excluded from the 12-man squad, instead travelling to India to prepare for the first Test in Chennai.

Fast bowler Coulter-Nile has graduated to the T20I fold on the back of 10 wickets at an average of 27.60 for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League this season, while batsman Rohrer cherished a fine stretch of form in the same competition. The 31-year-old Rohrer scored 295 runs at an average of 49.16 and a strike-rate in excess of 150.00 for the Melbourne Renegades.

The clash at the Gabba will also mark the T20I return of wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin, who announced his retirement from the format in September 2011, at the time declaring his intention to focus on Tests and ODI cricket.

The 35-year-old Haddin, however, has been usurped by Wade as the nation's preferred wicketkeeper in all formats - and the selectors are eager to keep the veteran in and around the national setup.

"Ben Rohrer had an outstanding season with the Melbourne Renegades in the middle order and Nathan Coulter-Nile has shown very good form in all three formats throughout the summer," said national selector John Inverarity.

"Brad Haddin and Clint McKay are experienced campaigners and Josh Hazlewood is one of our very promising young pace bowlers who has recently regained full fitness. With the Test squad being in India this fixture will provide some more players with invaluable international experience."

Coulter-Nile and Haddin, meanwhile, have been added to the squad for the fifth and final ODI against the West Indies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
