Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf has been reinstated after an Islamabad high court nullified the government's decision to replace the PCB's governing board with its own management committee three months ago.

Saturday saw justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi invalidate prime minister Nawaz Sharif's decision to dismiss Ashraf in February – and appoint a committee chaired by interim chairman Najam Sethi.

All decisions authorised by Sethi, including the hiring of new head coach Waqar Younis and batting coach Grant Flower, have been rendered null and void.

"The notification of February 10 has been struck down as null and void as it was illegal and, as natural consequences, Ashraf and other board staff who were superceded by the order are reinstated," said Ashraf's lawyer Afnan Karim Kundi.
