The Pakistan Cricket Board are waiting with bated breath to see what spinner Saeed Ajmal's fate is, and though he is back with the squad in Sri Lanka, they still have a week to wait for the Brisbane results.

Ajmal was reported for a suspect action earlier in the month and went to Australia for testing, missing the first two games of the ODI series.. The PCB are preparing for a worst case scenario, which could see him out for up to two months.

A PCB official told PTI: "We have been told we will be informed about the findings of his bowling action tests conducted in Brisbane in seven to eight days.

"The Brisbane lab will first send the report to the ICC who will than as per protocol inform us. The worst we are expecting is that Saeed may be stopped from playing and be told to remodel his bowling action.

"If that happens we anticipate it will take around 45 to 60 days for him to complete this process of remodelling his action and getting it cleared by the ICC.

"We also can't rule out the fact that his action could be cleared on basis of the tests in Brisbane but it is best to prepare for the worst."

Ajmal is one of a handful of recent reportees, with Zimbabwe's Prosper Utseya, New Zealand's Kane Williamson, Bangladesh's Sohag Gazi and Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senanayake all also told to have their actions looked at.
