Career summary

- ODI debut v Zimbabwe at Harare - September 2005.

- Test debut v Pakistan at Faisalabad - January 2006.

- Left-arm swing bowler Singh first came to prominence during the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004.

- He was called up to the Indian ODI squad the following year and picked up two wickets in his second over on his debut.

- After a couple of poor performances with the ball, he dropped out of contention. However his good form during the 2007 Ranji Trophy saw him recalled for the tours of Bangladesh and England where he sparkled.

- He was also part of India's 2007 ICC World Twenty20 winning team.

- Regained his place in the Test team in 2008, but went wicketless and was dropped again.
