Career summary

- Test debut v New Zealand at Chittagong - October 2004.

- ODI debut v South Africa at Birmingham - September 2004.

- Surprise inclusion in 2003 Test series squad v England but failed to make an appearance except as a substitute fielder.

- However in that substitute fielder role he took a stunning diving catch to justify his squad selection.

- Played at every junior level for Bangladesh, performing at the 2002 World Youth Cup and the U-19 World Cup in 2004.

- Took a five wicket haul in second ODI v New Zealand 2004, winning the man-of-the-match award.

- Led Bangladesh to a 3-2 series victory with an unbeaten 81 in the final match against Zimbabwe in January 2005.

- Joined the rebel Indian Cricket League and was subsequently banned from national selection for ten years. However after just one year quite the ICL and returned to the international fold in January 2010.
