- McCallan is an off-spinning all-rounder who initially held the record the most capped player in Irish history (31 ODI games, including Commonwealth Games in 1998-99) plus 14 ICC Trophy games.

- Took the wickets of Ricardo Powell and Carlton Baugh in first match v West Indies in 2004. Didn't take a wicket in the second match which Ireland won.

- Finished third in the Northern Ireland Sports Personality of the Year 2005.

- Took a wicket with his first ball for Ireland v Wales at Rathmines in 1996.
