- ODI Debut v India at Nottingham - Sept 1, 2004
- After starting his career at the Yorkshire Academy, with limited chance he moved on to Nottinghamshire in 1997.
- After some good performances in the 2nd XI he was released in 1999 and moved onto Glamorgan.
- Won his first county cap in 2000 and had a great season ending in receiving Glamorgan's Young Player of the Year.
- A persistent heel injury restricted his appearances for a while, but after successful seasons in 2003 and 2004, Wharf was called up to the England ODI side.
- Played well initially but was soon dropped and never returned, he only toured the West Indies with England A in 2005-06.
