- Test debut v South Africa at Mumbai - February 2000.
- ODI debut v Zimbabwe at Hyderabad - March 2002.
- Kartik is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a left-handed batsman.
- He made his mark as a one-day bowler against West Indies in 2002-03, only giving the batsmen scraps while other bowlers got smashed about.
