- ODI debut v Sri Lanka at Bulawayo - April 2004.
- A product of the ZCU development programme, he took to the game at Chipembere Primary School in the Highfield township of Harare.
- Fast-tracked into the Zimbabwe national side in the absence of the 'rebel' players, having made his first-class debut for Mashonaland in the Logan Cup at the age of only 15
- Represented Zimbabwe in two Under-19 World Cups and took four wickets in the Zimbabwe's sensational victory over Australia in the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh.
- Emerged as Zimbabwe's premier allrounder with his big hitting and wicket-taking ability.
