Career summary

- Test debut v West Indies at Bulawayo in July 2001.

- ODI debut v West Indies at Harare in June 2001.

- At just 5ft 5in, Taibu is in the old-school wicketkeeper-batsman mould, and was originally called up as cover for Andy Flower while still at school.

- After stepping in for a few matches, he was then appointed vice-captain following Flower's retirement and became a regular member of the side in 2003.

- Appointed captain in 2004 after Heath Streak resigned, but it lasted just more than a year - he quit international cricket in November 2005 following a disagreement with the board.

- Returned to Zimbabwe colours in 2007, and has regained his spot as regular wicketkeeper from Brendan Taylor.
