India Women retook the lead in their one-day series against England Women thanks to a comprehensive seven-wicket victory in Visakhapatnam.

England had levelled the five-match series at 1-1 with a three-run win in the previous encounter on Sunday.

But a poor total of 130 in their innings on Wednesday gave them little chance of building on that and India easily knocked off the required runs.

The hosts won the toss and chose to field, and that immediately proved a wise decision as opener Ebony-Jewel Rainford-Brent fell for a duck in the fourth over.

None of the England batters could establish themselves, with Beth Morgan's 24 proving the highest score of the innings.

Rumeli Dhar did much of the damage with the ball, taking four for 19 from her 10 overs.

Any hopes England had of making life difficult for India were ended by openers Poonam Raut and Anjum Chopra, who put on a 97-run stand before the former was trapped lbw by Jenny Gunn.

Gunn also picked up the wicket of Priyanka Roy while Anagha Deshpande was bowled by Katherine Brunt.

But Chopra stayed put and finished on 61 not out as India wrapped up victory with more than nine overs to spare.

England must now win the remaining matches on Friday and Monday to take the series.
