England Lions have lost their one-day series against Pakistan A 2-1 after a 70-run defeat in Friday's final game in Dubai.
A largely impressive effort by the tourists' bowlers, led by Chris Woakes' four for 38, restricted Pakistan to 213 all out despite half-centuries from Asad Shafiq and Yasir Shah.
But the Lions were dismissed for just 143, Raza Hasan taking a stunning three for 13 and Abdur Rehman adding three for 24.
The hosts won the toss but slipped to four for two as Steven Finn (two for 44) and Woakes each struck in their first over.
They slipped further to 33 for four but Shafiq (52) and Naved Yasin (46) put on 77 and Hammad Azam (22) and keeper Naeem Anjum (24) helped Shah (51) add vital late runs.
Andrew Gale and Michael Lumb got England off to a solid start despite the early loss of pinch-hitter Peter Trego, but the collapse started once skipper Gale departed for 17 and Lumb followed for 30.
That proved to be the top score of the innings though Ian Bell matching the mark before being superbly caught by Yasin and Steven Davies then fell for 24.
Raza removed Yorkshire spinners Adil Rashid and David Wainwright and Rehman wrapped up the innings with the wicket of Finn, while Shah chipped in with two for 33.
ECB performance director David Parsons said: "We've played some good cricket this tour and on the whole it's been a success.
"We wanted to identify players who would be able to go on and forge successful England careers at some point in the future and this tour has done that."
