England and Sri Lanka's Under-19 teams were prevented the chance to add to their impressive string of ODI performances as rain washed out their third match at Arundel.

Thus far the balance of the series has swung from one team to the next, with England opening proceedings with a hard-fought three-wicket victory after dominating proceedings for the most part, before Sri Lanka bounced back to claim a five-wicket win next up. But with only 11.4 overs of play possible, Tuesday's clash was never going to offer much.

Having had to wait out a delayed start, England struck early with Lewis Gregory claiming the scalp of Ramith Rambukwella for just one. From then on in it was smooth sailing for Sri Lanka, as Rumesh Buddika and Bhanuka Rajapaksa put on a 50-run partnership before the wet weather had the final say.

There are two games remaining in the five-match series, with the next contest scheduled for 12 August in Canterbury.
