Nottinghamshire produced a stunning display of seam bowling to dismantle Warwickshire as the LV County Championship Division One leaders claimed victory by an innings and 55 runs inside two days.

Having begun the day on 13 without loss, 315 behind the hosts, Warwickshire were dispatched for 121 inside 55 overs in their first innings, Andre Adams picking up four wickets for 14 runs from 13.1 overs.

He sent down nine maidens and bowled a remarkable 52 deliveries before conceding a run from the bat.

The shell-shocked visitors were then dismissed for 152 in their second innings, with England's left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom claiming five for 35, his best figures for Notts in four years.

Varun Chopra was the only Warwickshire batsman to pass 21 in either innings, hitting 54 before becoming one of Sidebottom's five victims.

Tim Ambrose in contrast collected a pair on the same day inside 48 overs.

Faced with an overcast day ideally suited to the swing of Nottinghamshire's bowlers, Warwickshire struggled badly in the first session, adding just 64 for the loss of four wickets as Sidebottom, Adams and Paul Franks all found prodigious movement in the air and off the seam.

Skipper Ian Westwood played and missed three times in one Sidebottom over before finally edging to Chris Read behind the stumps to start the fall of wickets. Out-of-form Darren Maddy then handed Adams his first wicket with an awful cut shot edged to slip, and Jim Troughton and Chopra were both trapped lbw.

Franks himself followed Adams' lead with six straight maidens, removing Rikki Clarke and Ateeq Javid, before Sidebottom returned to dismiss Ambrose and Keith Barker.

Imran Tahir and Boyd Rankin offered little resistance and, with the visitors 207 behind, they were asked to follow on, having lost their last nine wickets for 68 runs in 29 overs.

The second innings was all over in just one session as Westwood and Maddy both fell cheaply again, although Chopra battled away to claim his first half-century from 94 balls with seven fours before he was dismissed by a Sidebottom yorker, who followed up two balls later by removing Clarke's off-stump.

Troughton could not find any resistance and edged to Read, Ambrose was lbw first ball and Javid was bowled after attempting to leave the ball for the second time in the day before Barker was caught behind.

Notts claimed the extra half-hour and wrapped up the game with an over to spare, Imran Tahir bowled by Franks and Chris Woakes slashing to second slip.
