Sri Lanka will be without fast bowler Suranga Lakmal for this month's Test series against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka will be without fast bowler Suranga Lakmal for this month's Test series against Pakistan.

Lakmal has been sidelined by a left ankle injury sustained during the second and final Test against South Africa in Colombo recently.

The hosts will not replace the talented right-armer in the squad for the two-match series, which will start in Galle on Wednesday.

Seamer Shaminda Eranga, meanwhile, is pushing for a recall. Eranga is recovering from a hand injury sooner than expected.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal and spinner Ajantha Mendis have been dropped for Pakistan's visit – and the inexperienced Niroshan Dickwella retained.
