South Africa coach Mickey Arthur is happy with the form of several of his national team players after the first two rounds of South Africa's domestic Supersport Series competition.
The Proteas have released several of their stars to play with their local franchises as they seek time in the middle ahead of a busy summer programme.
Arthur was particularly impressed with the form of opener Neil McKenzie, who missed the opening weekend with a rib injury, after he scored a century for the Lions while Albie Morkel also made a return from injury.
"It was particularly pleasing to see McKenzie opening the batting for the Lions as this is where he plays for the Test squad," Arthur said.
"Another encouraging sign was to see Albie Morkel having his first bowl of the season after his troublesome shoulder injury.
"He is exactly where we want him to be in terms of his preparation for the Standard Bank ODI squad."
Jacques Kallis and Mark Boucher are set to play in the competition this weekend with the Warriors while the Titans will be boosted by the inclusions of AB De Villiers and Dale Steyn.
At the moment only captain Graeme Smith is not scheduled to play for his franchise.
The Proteas play back-to-back one-day internationals against Kenya at the end of the month before hosting Bangladesh in a two Test, three ODI series.
Those series precede the anticipated tour of Australia, with the world champions to land in South Africa to resume hostilities immediately after that trip.
