Proteas, Windies get third T20I

A third Twenty20 International has been added to the West Indies' tour of South Africa.

A third Twenty20 International has been added to the West Indies' tour of South Africa.

The series was originally scheduled to feature three Tests – in Centurion, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town – and two T20Is. The additional T20 will be played at Kingsmead in Durban on 14 January 2015.

"We are grateful to the West indies for agreeing to a KFC T20I series of three matches," said Cricket South Africa chief executive Haroon Lorgat.

The Proteas and Windies suffered semi-final exits to India and Sri Lanka respectively at the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh earlier this month.

CSA, meanwhile, have announced the franchise fixtures for all three domestic competitions for the 2014-15 season.

"With the World Cup taking place next year February and March, we have scheduled the One-Day Cup to start as usual in October – but the final rounds of league competition and the knock-out phase will take place in January and February 2015," added Lorgat.

"This will allow our national players the opportunity to play competitive 50-over cricket before they depart for Australasia.

"As a result, the T20 Challenge will take place in November and December and again there will be opportunities in the latter stages of this tournament for those Proteas not involved in the Test Series against the West Indies to show their skills."
