Zimbabwe Cricket hire Hondo, James

Zimbabwe Cricket have hired former seamer Douglas Hondo and wicketkeeper-batsman Wayne James as bowling and assistant coach respectively.

Erstwhile team manager Mohammed Meman, meanwhile, has filled the position on the national selection panel vacated by James earlier this month.

Ex-skipper Alistair Campbell will soon replace the veteran Wilfred Mukondiwa as ZC chief executive officer.

"The board has an oversight role on the management of the game, which includes matters on and off the field. That supervision is done through board committees and so it is imperative that we look at them from time to time to review their performance," said chairman Wilson Manase.

"Wayne is not a ZC board member. He was co-opted into the committee which, like all the others, is currently being restructured. There is no guarantee that co-opted members will remain in the same committees in an ever-evolving game."

The Zimbabweans, under the captaincy of all-rounder Elton Chigumbura and guidance of new head coach Stephen Mangongo, are currently playing an ODI tri-series against South Africa and Australia at the Harare Sports Club.
