Advantage Australia A on day one


The first four-day unofficial Test match featuring Australia A and India A commenced at Allan Border Field in Brisbane today with the hosts ending on top.

India A won the toss this morning and elected to bat. Following a strong start to the day, reaching 3-188, the side was bowled out for 230.

Australia A are currently 0-25 with openers Cameron Bancroft (10) and Joe Burns (12) at the crease at stumps on day 1.

Queensland’s Mitch Swepson was pick of the bowlers, taking 4-78 from 21 overs.

Western Australia’s David Moody, the youngest member of Australia A, took 3-26 from 12 overs, whilst South Australia’s Chadd Sayers produced 2-41. Recent Australia ODI call-up Daniel Worrall snared a single wicket.

Manish Pandey was the tourists’ top scorer with 77, before Sayers took his wicket with the first ball of the final session.
