Australian star Labuschagne responds to glowing Tendulkar praise

Australia’s Test Player of the season Marnus Labuschagne admits he was “stoked” to receive such high praise from someone of Sachin Tendulkar’s “calibre”.
Tendulkar earlier picked out Labuschagne as the batsman from the current era who reminded him of himself.
And the Australian number three responded during an interview after he picked up his gong at the Australian Cricket Award Ceremony.

“It was pretty amazing, one that I was quick to rate it, and when it hit me, I was like these are pretty amazing words from someone of his calibre. So, I was really grateful for his word. Just stoked really,” Labuschagne told reporters.
During a promotional event for the Bushfire Relief Match in Sydney, Tendulkar hailed the Australian newcomer as “special”.
Tendulkar said: “I saw Marnus getting hit (on the helmet by) the second ball he faced from Jofra Archer and post that, the 15 minutes he batted I said ‘this player looks special, there is something about him.
“His footwork was precise, and footwork is not physical, it’s mental. If you’re not thinking positively in your mind, then your feet don’t move. So that clearly indicated to me that this guy is mentally strong.”
