Bangladesh without key trio for first Test

The Bangladesh Cricket Board have declared batsman Anamul Haque, all-rounder Nasir Hossain and spinner unavailable for the first Test against Zimbabwe, which will get underway at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.

Haque, Hossain and Sunny have, instead, been named in the BCB XI to participate in the Acharya Memorial Trophy in Kolkata later in the month.

The key fixture will be part of an event, which will also feature teams from Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata, to celebrate 150 years of Eden Gardens.

Anamul has been appointed captain, with the talentd Naeem selected as vice-captain.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will meet for three Tests. Khulna will host the second and Chittagong the third. Five ODIs will follow between 21 November and 1 December.
