Bayliss rues England’s inconsistency

England coach Trevor Bayliss admits his team were outplayed in the second Test against Bangladesh allowing the hosts to record their first ever Test win over the tourists.
The coach believes that England’s inability to produce consistent performances cost them a series win in Bangladesh.
Bayliss said after England’s 108 run loss: “We were outplayed by the opposition.
“We played some good cricket at different times during the match but I don’t think from a batting or bowling point of view we were quite consistent enough.
“When they batted we let the pressure off at different times. They batted well and exerted some of that pressure and made us go off line on a number of occasions. It’s an area we’re obviously looking to get better at.”
England collapsed from 100 without loss to 164 all out in one session as the spin pairing of rookie Mehedi Hasan and Shakib-al-Hasan took all ten wickets between them.
Bayliss said of his side’s collapse: “On a wicket like this that’s a possibility.
“Once you get in a bit of a rut and the opposition get on a bit of roll that’s the type of thing that can happen on these wickets.
“All credit to Bangladesh, if they get more wickets like this they’ll be in with a fair chance of winning a number of Test matches.”
