Willey joins CSK in IPL as injury replacement

England international David Willey has joined the Chennai Super Kings for this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL), his county side Yorkshire has confirmed.
Willey will link up with the Super Kings after the Indian franchise lost Kedar Jadhav and Mitchell Santner due to injury.
Jadhav’s IPL season ended on Saturday in the first game against Mumbai Indians when he suffered a grade two hamstring tear.
New Zealand spinner Santner was ruled out before the season because he has to undergo surgery on his knee.
England allrounder Willey, who has played 34 ODIs and 20 T20Is, has 147 T20 matches to his name, scoring two centuries and seven fifties while he also taken 143 wickets.
Chennai’s next game in the tournament is on Tuesday when they host the Kolkata Knight Riders.
