Buttler determined to make Ashes squad

Jos Buttler is determined to be in England’s Ashes squad even though has not featured in the longest format since December last year.
Although Jonny Bairstow has established himself as England’s number one wicketkeeper in the five-day format, Buttler could find a place in the squad as the reserve gloveman.
Buttler played in all five Tests on home soil in 2015 as England regained the Ashes trophy from Australia but a poor run of form with the bat saw him lose his place in the Test whites.
The 27-year-old Buttler, who is England’s first-choice keeper in limited-overs cricket, says his ambition is still to play all three formats of the game for his country.
Buttler said: “I was a child of the 2005 Ashes and I think that is still the best series of cricket ever.
“Having been part of an Ashes series in 2015, for any English or Australian player you know that’s what it’s all about and the Ashes is still the main thing.
“You want to be involved with England all the time, it’s something incredibly special to be a part of and when you’re not involved you know what you’re missing out on.
“Everybody’s ambition should be to play for England in all three formats.”
