Morgan and England looking forward to Champions Trophy

England captain Eoin Morgan, opined that professional cricketers preferred to be tested in tough and challenging events like the ICC Champions Trophy.

“The ICC Champions Trophy is an elite ODI competition, contested by the sport’s top eight ranked sides featuring the finest 50-over cricketers. As professionals, we want to be involved in such intense competitions where our individual and team skills are tested almost each day,” the left-handed middle-order batsman said.

England finished as runners-up in 2013, when Morgan's dismissal proved to be the turning point in a rain effected clash against India at Edgbaston.

England have never won an ICC 50-over tournament, despite playing in five finals and hosting no fewer than six events. This will be the third time England host this tournament having lost in the final on both previous occasions. After a disappointing group stage exit in the 2015 World Cup they will be eager to perform well and break their duck in the Champions Trophy in front of their expectant fans.
