India batsman Virat Kohli has reportedly been getting advice from legend Sachin Tendulkar, who has apparently been helping the talented batsman in the nets in a bid to get him out of his slump.

Kohli had a very disappointing tour to England, averaging just over 13 in 10 Test innings and also not firing in the ODI series, and has been training at the Mumbai Cricket Association's indoor centre.

Former India coach Lalchand Rajput was quoted as saying in the Hindustan Times: "Virat was here for an intense session. Sachin was present too. He is going to come in for practice over the next two-three days as well.

"Since Virat had time, he felt he could come and just stay in touch. He worked on his off-stump game. We will have a better idea about how his form is in a couple of days, though international players don't take time."

Kohli's next assignment for India is against the West Indies in early October, with the Caribbean side visiting the sub-continent for five ODIs, a T20 and three Tests. After that there is a long break until December.
